Are you a Slactivist or an Activist?
What’s your lifestyle? What are your priorities? What can you realistically do at this point in your life? No matter where you find yourself, the fact that you’re on this website and reading this right now probably means you care about your future and this planet. You probably realize the stakes have never been higher to take action on climate change. iMatter folks around the world are working in different capacities to wake up this generation and challenge the ruling generation to live and lead as if the future matters.
If your schedule is tight, and you just don’t have the time or energy to spend on climate change (ahem, even though this is the most urgent crisis of history), it’s o.k., life does have a way of leading us in many directions. You can still be involved right at your computer. Slacktivists get things done through the internet - signing petitions, forwarding info on to friends on Twitter or Facebook, “Liking” our page - all it takes is the click of a finger.
Activists, well, they act. They take action and organize iMatter events, marches, protests to get the message out, along with other activists around the globe. They make time to create posters, call friends, get a group together to participate directly in this thing called democracy. The streets call your name, and you just can’t resist hitting the pavement and causing a stir in your community. Wake up right?
If you’re young, and consider taking action on climate change your life calling, there’s a definite place for you. Kickactivists, well, they kick a#*. They do everything Slactivists and Activists do, plus they are the spokespersons in their communities with iMatter. If giving presentations at your schools, city councils, youth groups, or other events is something you get excited about, join the Kickactivist Council <
> to get involved!
